suggest you look inside the door looms, common for wires to break inside the rubber gaiter

look in faq section---thats how i learnt of the fault and its a couple of hours at the most?

both windows are wired via the double switch in drivers door, thats were mine had broken 3 wires at once in the rubber door gaiter but caused central locking to stay shut !!

seems window.central locking faults are usually started in the door loom

Took door panel off and disconnected loom and found a small nick out off the red/yellow cable which had electrical tape round but was wet. Replaced tape and dried wires but still nothing. Would it trip something if wet or blow a fuse? What's puzzling is the back windows and mirrors are working

after about 4 hours of looking and scratching my head i got nothing apart from a single click coming from drivers side motor when pushing the down button but nothing from other buttons, could both motors be knackered, i have only owned car 2 days so i think previous owner couldnt be bothered to change either motor when they broke. is there a way to check motors?

swap the motors/switches,then recheck ALL the wires again.

Thanks for your reply. I've swapped switches from drivers side to passenger and vice versa and nothing happened I've rechecked wire loom and nothing. How do i check/swap motors as all one unit and haven't got replacement as the are expensive
